AAUW Dessert, Card Party Set The American Association of University Women, Tryon Area Branch, will once again sponsor a dessert-card party. This will be the third year for this event, the proceeds of which are used to finance math and science awards for Sth grade girls at Polk County ele mentary schools. Last year's winners were: Hannah Rogers and Laura Lankford from Tryon Elemen tary, Michelle Searcy and Monica Ruff from Polk Central, and Amy Case and April Jones from Saluda Elementary. This important event will be held on Thurs., April 30 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at the Tryon Youth Center. It is open to the public at a cost of $5 each, and $20 for a table. Contributions arc welcome. Desserts will be provided by AAUW members. There will be table prizes, as well as door prizes.
